Home Energy Audit Tax Credit

What Qualifies for this Credit?

A home energy audit means an inspection and written report with respect to a principal residence which:

  1. identifies the most significant and cost-effective energy efficiency improvements with respect to the residence, including an estimate of the energy and cost savings with respect to each such improvement, and

  2. is conducted and prepared by a certified home energy auditor

Who Can Use this Credit?

Principal Residence Owners- Must be an existing home & your principal residence.

New construction and rentals do not apply. A principal residence is the home where you live most of the time. The home must be in the United States. It can include a house, houseboat, mobile home, cooperative apartment, condominium, and a manufactured home.
